Are You A SciGirl?

Ahh, summer. Time to slather on the SPF-50, slap on some sunglasses, slide into sneakers, and head down to the local pond to count how many frogs have funny-looking legs.

Right?

If you answered yes, you’re probably a SciGirl.  A SciGirl loves all things STEM.  And to a SciGirl, summer feels like the perfect time pack a picnic lunch, grab some friends, and figure out what is causing the crazy (but verrrry interesting) amphibian malformation in her town.

SciGirls are interested in the world around them. They’re into figuring out how and why things work. They love to hike, explore, and create. They get their hands dirty. And they like it.

If this sounds like you, you’ll definitely want to check out SciGirls.  SciGirls is a L’Oreal-funded PBS project that is all about changing up the way girls think about STEM. The half-hour episodes star real girls—not actors—rolling up their sleeves and exploring cool STEM adventures. Check out streaming episodes at the program’s popular website at www.pbs.org/scigirls, where you’ll also find awesome games and a safe social media space to connect with other SciGirls nationwide. You can create your own profile, post your coolest science investigations, and just hang out with girls who “get” you, and share your passion for STEM.

Once you’re onboard with SciGirls, bump things up to the next level by forming your own SciGirls Club. (Really, you can do this!)  Here are a few simple steps:
